Bridget Kennedy, independent councillor for Lane Cove Council

For a Lane Cove that’s leafy, liveable and connected

Bridget became a Lane Cove Councillor in January 2022.

As a true community-focused independent, Bridget is focused on empowering the local community and representing the Lane Cove people’s voices both at council and beyond.

Formal politics is a new thing for Bridget, but she has strong roots in the community. Bridget was awarded the 2018 Lane Cove Citizen of the Year award for her community service.

She’s a small business owner and on a number of boards. She’s also a founding member of the Repair Cafe Sydney North, and instigator and co-founder of the Sydney Edible Garden Trail and The Sydney Library of Things.

News

Bridget is an advocate for sustainable and appropriate development, equitable access to public spaces, local climate action and support for the arts.

She wants to see Lane Cove Council drastically improve their approach to community consultation and actually listen to their residents.
